Surojit Sarkar, PhD, is a principal investigator at the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Research at Seattle Children's Research Institute and an assistant professor at the University Of Washington School Of Medicine.  He is a pioneer researcher in the domain of immunological memory. In his words, he has dedicated his life to Dr Sarkar delivered a lecture at NII on 27th January 2025 titled, "T cell immunotherapy for viral infections and solid tumors". He explained how the battle for T cells is a matter of both quantity and quality.

The Sarkar Lab is investigating methods to help the immune system remember cancer and attack it if it recurs. His group focuses on developing innovative ways of beating cancer.

Dr. Sarkar also interacted with the faculty and students of NII on the ongoing research in his lab at the Seattle Children's Research Institute.
