BRIC-NII is dedicated to building capacity for research uptake through better communication and engagement. To this end, the institute is organizing a capacity-building workshop in the context of science communication and engagement on 10-11 February 2025.

Workshop Objectives

To understand the concept and importance of research uptake which ensures research findings are effectively communicated and applied in policy, practice and decision-making for societal benefit; identify the key principles and components contributing to effective research uptake and learn about tools and strategies that enable the uptake of research findings by policymakers, practitioners, and the public.

Over the two days, the workshop will delve into the following major modules with exercises, activities, and case studies:

•    Communicating Research to Non-Expert Audiences

•    Public Engagement with Science

•    Media Engagement for Scientists

•    Intersection of Science and Policy
